Live streaming is a central part of BatCat’s planned connected experience: an owner-started, moving camera view from the device your cat wears.
You could recognise a familiar doorway, see the route through a garden or simply share a little of their adventure. A location gives you a place; the camera adds visual context about the surroundings. What you see depends on where your cat looks and how the device is worn.

In the planned experience, choose your cat in the owner app and open Live view to request a camera session from their wearable. Your cat does not need to press anything.
Watch their world in motion.
The intended live feed sends continuous moving footage over the device’s network connection. Follow their exploration as it reaches you, rather than requesting separate photographs or watching saved clips.
Listen. Let them hear you.
Planned, separate audio controls let you choose whether to listen to their surroundings or send your familiar voice through the device speaker. Viewing, listening and speaking remain separate choices.
Keep a little of the adventure.
Saving selected photographs and clips to your cat’s gallery, and viewing on a compatible larger screen, are part of the planned connected experience. Both need validation with the wearable feed and chosen devices.
Start and stop on your terms.
The intended stream is private to authorised viewers. You choose when to start, stop and save. Owner-led viewing sessions need battery, temperature, connection and data-use limits.
Know when the connection changes.
The planned experience must clearly show a dropped connection. A frozen or old picture must never be presented as a current live view.
Planned connected feature. Continuous live wearable video, audio and session performance are still being validated. Today’s website and app demonstrations use recorded cat-camera footage, identified as recorded footage.

A more focused owner assistant explains care, safeguarding and the main app controls.
Where development stands
Spoken guidance and voluntary chosen-name memory are implemented. Owners can edit or forget the name and manage remembered cat facts. Advocate conversation uses voice-only controls; actual task and settings dialogs remain. The website app has no live voice or microphone connection. The separate homepage tour plays saved Bastion and Michael narration with illustrations.

Separate C&C, Calendar and Wellbeing views, preferences and care history for every cat in the household.

Multi-cat record separation is demonstrated in the owner app. Owner 0.38 adds editable cat facts and limited sitter handovers: the owner chooses what to share and when access expires. Release and access checks are recorded; wider customer commissioning still needs validation.

Calendar views, entries and reminders are implemented. Owner 0.38 also lets owners assign care tasks and record who reported completion and when. A completion record is a person’s report, not proof of the physical task. The website tour uses illustrations.
A nudge for everyday care
Plan one-off or repeating reminders, with optional phone notifications.

Notification receipt has been demonstrated in limited phone tests. Permissions and synchronisation are required; longer operation, quiet-time and reboot behaviour remain open.
A history you can review
Add observations and owner-entered weight, review changes and correct an entry when needed.

Manual wellbeing records and correction history work locally. Connected clinical sensors, diagnoses and inferred feelings are outside the verified scope.

Review daily facts or prepare a summary over a chosen period.

Seven-day, thirty-day and custom reports up to 31 days use the local records. Preparing a summary does not contact a vet or establish a clinical finding.
